Probes and digital display units

Digital probes work by utilizing advanced sensor technology to measure various physical parameters, such as distance, length, depth, or temperature, and then converting these measurements into digital data for accurate and precise readings. Here’s a brief explanation of how digital probes typically work:

Sensing Mechanism: Digital probes contain a sensor or sensors at their tip, which are designed to detect changes in the physical parameter being measured. The type of sensor can vary depending on the specific application. For example, a digital caliper may use a linear encoder as its sensing mechanism to measure length.

Data Acquisition: When the digital probe comes into contact with the object or substance being measured, the sensor detects the relevant physical change, such as the displacement of the probe’s tip. This change is then converted into an electrical signal.

Signal Processing: The electrical signal from the sensor is processed within the probe’s internal electronics. Analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) are often used to convert the analog signal into a digital format that can be processed by the device’s microcontroller.

External Display: Sylvac offers a range of external display units specifically designed to work with our digital probes. These display units feature clear and easy-to-read digital screens that provide users with precise numerical readings of the measured parameter.
